A Transformative, Eco-Friendly Healthcare Destination Inspired by Nature + Designed by WHR

Hinduja World Knowledge Center

This 2.5 million sf, 900-bed hospital and research-based quaternary care facility is designed to support a multi-disciplinary approach to healthcare. The Indian system of healthcare and medication, such as Ayurveda supported by yoga and the science of meditation, would be integrated with modern medicine so that comprehensive healthcare is available to cater to the whole range of illnesses, whether chronic, stress- or lifestyle-related, or of any other kind.

WHR was invited to present an iconic design concept for the Hinduja Group’s World Knowledge Centre (WKC) in Mumbai, India. The WKC would be the seat of learning, teaching, and sharing advanced healthcare information from leading hospitals, which are planned to be connected via an advanced networking system. Scholars would find the WKC serves as a haven for preparing their theses.

In addition to the hospital, the WKC includes a School of Nursing, clinical research and development facilities, a 200-suite hotel with convention center, and a Center for Alternative Medicine and Wellness.
