WHR has been working with Harbor for several years, which originally began with a master plan. We have also provided design services for a series of patient floor renovations to create family-centered environments. The design of these nursing units accommodates decentralized staffing models and provides for patient education and family involvement in the care process.
To date, we have renovated the following patient floors: Pulmonary/Renal, Telemetry, Oncology, and Women�s The Women�s and Infant�s floor replaces a traditional labor and delivery with an LDRP model of single room maternity care. The Special Care Nursery has a nautical theme with sail motifs intended to provide a sense of privacy or a �safe harbor� for babies. The waiting area provides a non-threatening, interactive environment.
