Elizabeth Viets, LEED AP ( 2006-2007 ), Liz earned her Master of Architecture and a certificate in Health Systems and Design from Texas A&M; University. During her time at A&M;, she was a student leader and served as a mentor to architecture for health studios. She also presented a post-occupancy evaluation of an ED and CCU at the 2006 conference of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) in San Diego with Mardelle Shepley and John Boerger. Liz�s final thesis project was the design of a healthy assisted living home that would encourage intergenerational social interaction and community involvement.
Prior to earning her Masters, Liz studied political science and biology at Washington University in St. Louis. These experiences afforded Liz valuable knowledge and skills that certainly enrich her work today. After publishing and presenting her biology research, she looks forward to many opportunities to contribute research to the field of healthcare architecture. During her fellowship year, Liz has chosen to explore sustainable practices and evidence-based design in addition to working with senior medical planners with ongoing planning and design projects. She is also responsible for reviewing and organizing evidence-based design literature and other educational resources for use by medical planners at WHR.
Liz is a LEED Accredited Professional and is currently working toward becoming a licensed architect.
