Project Profile

Methodist DeBakey Heart Center Entry, Houston TX: The design intent of this project is to transform an existing courtyard situated between Dunn Tower and Fondren Brown to form the new entrance/lobby for DeBakey Heart Center. We chose to insert a glass envelope that retains the essence of a courtyard with architectonic qualities that blends the new addition with its existing context. I was an integral part of the design team from the inception of this project. I had the opportunity to interact and engage with the client. This project is currently in the construction document phase.

University of Utah Hospital Expansion , Salt Lake City UT - Site Analysis and Architectural Space Program: This project allowed me to participate in the programming phase of a design project. I traveled and interacted with the client in gaming session and other user group meetings. I was involved in planning this new expansion and writing of the program document.

Fellowship Project: The Tradewell Fellow is required to perform a research project as an integral part of the program. My project deals with Evidence Based Design for Critical Care, a book being co-authored by D. Kirk Hamilton and Mardelle McCuskey Shepley. The concept is for a book that plans to describe the main design issues associated with critical care environments illustrated with a group of contemporary case studies. My role in this publication is that of editorial assistant.
