The new, state of the art behavioral and biomedical sciences building is a 6-story, 153,000 GSF combining both clinical and research facilities. The building was first conceived as two separate buildings, but departments were combined into one building in order to capitalize on shared services and reducing the overall building footprint.
The Adult Psychiatry Clinictreats patients with a variety of behavioral and psychiatric disorders through individual and group psychotherapy as well as medication treatment. A variety of treatment modalities are used including psychodynamic, supportive, cognitive, behavioral, and psychopharmacological interventions. In order to accommodate the vast array of treatment needs, the clinic includes exam rooms, therapy rooms, a control room, offices and waiting area, and also shares a reception area with the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic.
The Substance Abuse Research Center (SARC) and, specifically, the Treatment Research Clinic’s mission is to define better treatment options for substance dependence. The center and clinic occupy the majority of the first floor which includes a waiting area, business office with patient check-in, assessment rooms, exam rooms, prep rooms, EKG/Phlebotomy room, drug administration room, a monitored restroom, nurse station, pharmacy, supply room, storage and offices.
The Center for Human Development Research (CHDR) is a multidisciplinary center for research on developmental psychopathology and developmental disabilities. Their mission is to be a center of excellence in research, education, clinical and community service related to all aspects of human development and developmental psychopathology. This area includes specialty rooms for testing and evaluation.
