Planetree Demonstration Unit, Moline, Illinois
The 8,400 square foot model unit features family accommodations, a kitchen and family room, a full library and education center, designed to drastically reduce the institutional character of the surrounding hospital. Areas such as the library and family room are particularly welcome additions to a traditional nursing unit. Light neutral finishes serve as a backdrop to colored upholstery used on the Shaker-style furniture. In order to transmit the message that individual attention has been crafted into the healing environment, the team custom designed all furnishings, draperies and the wallcovering borders.
