Jill

Architect
Jill grew up on the move traveling with her engineer dad and artist mom. At age seven she visited a family friend, an architectural professor, at his studio. That brief introduction had a profound influence on her decision to become an architect. While touring his studio, she was awestruck by all the perfect white models displayed. Shes carried the image of those models with her growing up, through her days at Rice University and now with us at WHR. Since being here Jills contributions to WHR include many, however one of the projects she's most proud of is the Texas A&M; University Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies in Corpus Christi. "Its dramatic form, site on the water and complex program made this a very memorable project."

Still on the move, Jill is an avid cyclist. She spends nights and weekends from January through April training for the BP MS150 Bike Tour, a 150-mile bike ride from Houston to Austin. She's already registered for April 2008, her 6th consecutive ride! When not pedaling, you might find her on the track running or working out in the pool.

My favorite part of every project is programming and planning. I love meeting with clients and users to define their needs, desires and goals, so we can design buildings that are as functional as they are beautiful.
