Position Summary
The Lab Planner/Designer will be responsible for implementing the planning and design concepts for research facilities that are developed by the design team and the owner. He/she will be involved in the development of business for the studio including proposals, presentations, and participation in professional organizations.
Qualifications
- Professional degree in architecture
- Must be licensed as an architect
- Must have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in laboratory planning and design

- Has strong graphic presentation skills
Responsibilities
- Will participate in the coordination and development of the pre-design phase of a research project
- Will participate in the planning and programming workshops with clients
- Helps to monitor and review implementation of client provided information
- Helps to review progress and provides technical direction on research facility projects
- Mentor junior staff
- Continue education through seminars and participation in professional organization activities
- May participate in business development opportunities for the firm including assisting in responses to RFPs, making project presentations, calling on prospects, networking, writing articles and participating in professional seminars
