Position Summary
The Interior Designer will be responsible for technical and interior design leadership on a project. He/she will perform the services and/or provide supervision and guidance on all design and technical matters related to the interior design delivery of projects. He/she will be responsible for working with the Senior Project Architect to coordinate all architectural and interior design technical matters. He/she will be responsible for working with the Interior Design Project manager on managing the client’s expectation and experience as well as the overall performance of the Interiors team. The SID will assist in business development efforts as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from FIDER accredited school
- Must hold NCIDQ license and eligible to be registered in the state of Texas
- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in interior design, preferably healthcare but not required
Responsibilities
- Initiate the concept building for each project
- Provide client maintenance / contact
- Manage staffing hours for SID/ID
- Oversee QC / QA for projects in the studio
- Requesting concept review from Studio
- Responsible for project files include CADD, flat files and central files and interface with the architectural team
- Responsible for SD / DD / CD packages that leave office including specifications
Schematic Design
- Support architect with space planning
- Vision Session/Concept Building with ID team members
- Manage/oversee ID team members
Design Development Phase
- Attend all DD meetings as primary information gather and presenter (with ID team members if possible)
- Develop options for architectural elements with ID team members
- Working with architect on space planning
- Redline and review DD set and specs
- Managing/oversee ID team members
- Follow task list that is listed in WHR Process Manual with ID team members
Construction Documents & Construction Administration Phases
- Oversee documentation
- Managing/oversee ID team members
- Redline and review CD set and specs
- Follow task list that is listed in WHR Process Manual with ID team members
Furniture
- Attend all furniture meetings as primary information gather and presenter (with ID team members if possible)
- Develop options for furniture selections and layout with ID team members
- Redline and review furniture plans and specs
- Managing/oversee ID team members
- Follow task list that is listed in WHR Process Manual with ID team members
