With potential land acquisitions that would nearly double the hospitals usable acreage, CHRISTUS St. Frances needed a new master campus plan. The plan laid out a road map for long-term growth of the campus as well as address short term needs of the hospital expanding women and childrens services and the emergency department.
This project was to celebrate life and services that embrace multiple generations, from genesis to the aged. The design concept was inspired by the hospitals mission which is rooted in Christian values. The architectonics and materials respond to the architectural vernacular and climate of the region.
The new bed tower includes an emergency department and a new Women and Childrens Program, which includes Outpatient Womens Services, a birthing suite, NICU and Pediatrics. Incorporation of natural light and access to the outdoors was a priority for CHRISTUS St. Frances. The emergency department features a dedicated healing garden for patient, family and staff, and an outdoor landscaped mall which is easily accessed from any where in the campus.
CHRISTUS St. Frances position in the market as a healthcare leader in Central Louisiana has strengthened. The architecture reflects the hospitals commitment to compassionate healthcare in a welcoming and healing environment.
