Dr. Michael Mann acquired two floors of a three-story building in Houstons historic museum district to be the new home for his full-service eye clinic. The two floors would cater to different types of service, each calling for distinct architectural and interior design approaches.
On the top floor, WHR created an 8,700 square-foot Primary Eye Care Center, complete with reception space, waiting area and optical shop. The floor below houses the 7,400 square-foot Refractive Surgery Center with large laser procedure room bordered by a windowed viewing room. While both floors utilize refreshingly open design and sweeping views of the downtown skyline, each is differentiated in its use of color, furniture and fabrics.
Both patients and staff now enjoy a space thats as beautiful and elegant as it is functional, which is essential to client well-being and procedural success. This project was honored by ASID in 2004 with an award for Interior Design.
