Philosophy

"We seek to contribute to the creation of a more healthful built environment with buildings, which are less polluting, less consuming and promote a greater intimacy with the natural world."

Maximizing sustainability in our design is part of WHRs approach to each project. The first step we take is to evaluate applicable sustainable design influences for the project, to determine possible cost and schedule impacts.

Commitment to Green Architecture
WHR is committed to environmental awareness and is thrilled to offer services for sustainable facility design. We believe sustainable design represents a greater commitment to the community and eco-region by investing in the health of the environment, population and its resources. In addition, sustainable design offers an increasingly sophisticated model for energy efficiency, building technology and material usage, all of which can have positive long term financial and operational benefits. WHRs goal is to help facilitate the clients vision for sustainable design by establishing best practices and measurement for success and branding. Avenues considered might include LEED certification, self-certifying Green Guide for Health Care or simply creating a customized level of sustainable design and practice.

LEED Certified Projects
WHR uses a whole building approach in balancing the environmental and economic aspects of each of our projects. In order to promote the use of this approach, WHR promotes Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accreditation among our staff. Currently, WHR has 35 LEED Accredited Professionals (AP) on staff
