Firm Culture
WHR is a firm of committed caring people. Given the business were in, we cant help but be this way. Our focus is helping mission-driven clients in healthcare, science and education. We take our work very personally because it contributes directly to the well-being of so many people. As our clients enhance lives, our architecture must as well. This philosophy naturally creates a culture of people who are kind, passionate, generous and honest.

Our Mission
We contribute to the creation of an enduring body of architecture that enriches the human experience. We enjoy our work and approach it with integrity, enthusiasm, commitment and a sense of responsibility to our clients, our staff, our profession and our communities.

Our Values
Integrity: Our working approach is characterized by honesty, fairness, trust and pride in everything we do.

Collaboration: We work in diverse client-inclusive teams that encourage the joy of participation and seek to develop the full potential of every project and every person involved.

Service: We put the needs of others first. In the service of our clients interests, we are advocates for the unrepresented, careful stewards of resources, and dedicated supporters of our communities.

Creativity: We value the meaningful application of knowledge and innovation into the creative process in the design of beautifully effective buildings for people.

Quality: We are committed to pursuing knowledge, improvement and excellence in every aspect of our practice to create built environments of the highest quality.

Collaboration
Our clients cure diseases, solve impossible problems, incite technological revolutions, and restore lives. Brilliant professionals, we could never design buildings for them without their collaboration. WHR excels in helping clients accomplish the most technically and logistically demanding challenges. Through our collaborative process we know how to build consensus for clients with multiple leaders and departments that have varying goals and interests to achieve their vision.

Diversity
We have worked purposefully to build an uncommonly diverse staff. WHR people hail from 21 different countries and represent four generations to create a company culture that strikes an exceptional  balance of professionalism, open-mindedness, intellectual stimulation, veteran experience and enthusiastic idealism. It is a adventurous culture that is a fine match for pioneering spirit of our clients.

Specialized Knowledge
WHR operates eight distinct studios: four dedicated to healthcare projects, one focused on education, science and technology, one for interior design, one that provides a broad range of facility consulting and planning services, and one that provides technology planning. Our clients work in highly complex, specialized arenas. Thus we concentrate our knowledge and experience by studio, to give each client the best possible team to serve their unique needs.
