Since beginning her fellowship year at WHR, Diana has recently become a LEED Accredited Professional.
Early on in her fellowship term at WHR, Diana was involved in a master planning project for Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics in Tyler, Texas. In addition, she helped in putting together a Post-Occupancy Evaluation for Ocean Medical Center in New Jersey and is currently involved in research and design for the Hospice Brazos Valley in Bryan, Texas, part of the new Texas A&M; University Health Science Center Campus.
Diana continues to be active in evidence-based design research. During medical school she completed a qualitative study on Palliative Care Unit Design at Bridgepoint Hospital in Toronto, Canada. This paper recently appeared in the April 2008 issue of the World Health Design Journal, published by The International Academy for Design and Health (IADH).
Diana was also awarded one of the 2003-2004 AIA/AHA Graduate Fellowships in Health Facility Planning and Design for her master�s thesis project in architecture.
Diana will be attending Healthcare Design �08 in Washington, D.C. Her chosen Tradewell project for the year will explore the culture of medical rounds, with the intention of making recommendations on space design to accommodate the current shift towards interdisciplinary rounding practices.
Recently, Diana wrote a commentary on patient room design which appeared in the October 2008 issue of the World Health Design Journal, published by The International Academy for Design and Health (IADH).
