Houston, Texas – On December 2, 2008 WHR Architects welcomed administrators and facility executives from the healthcare community’s leading institutions for an exceptional learning opportunity with Fabienne Moore, M.D., M.P.H. of The Advisory Board, an internationally respected, Washington DC-based research organization. Over the course of the event, Dr. Moore gave three highly focused seminars, which addressed critical issues in the healthcare industry including: the High Performance Emergency Department, the Future of Surgery, and the Future of Oncology.
Dr. Moore, a Senior Director with the Advisory Board, is recognized for her research models for enhancing hospital-physician alignment, forecasting outpatient demand, and forecasting in-patient demand as well as the configuration of the future operating suite and oncology program planning. Her understanding of the rapidly changing healthcare environment, including the integration of next generation tools and techniques provided the assembled group with new insights and provoked discussion.
Bringing the informative, high-level program to the Houston community is part of WHR’s long-term commitment to research, evaluation and development of the body of knowledge beyond the experience of the firm. “We understand the value of working with the best possible information to achieve the best possible outcomes, said David H. Watkins FAIA, Chairman and Founding Principal. “Sharing The Advisory Board’s latest findings with our clients and colleagues will help all of us provide better facilities.”
Industry participants concurred. Wade Mayberry, NCARB, and Principal Facilities Planner/Designer at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center voiced the response of many in the audience saying “Thank you for bringing Dr. Moore to Houston. Hers was one of the finest presentations on our ‘business’ that I've seen in years.”
Drawing on the resources of members comprising more than 2,600 leading hospitals, health systems and healthcare companies and on the independent work of over 900 researchers, terrain-based experts, hospital administrators, clinicians and consultants, The Advisory Board is recognized as one the leading sources for critical information and best practices.
