The American Institute of Architects Elevates Two at WHR Architects to Fellowship

Houston, Texas (May 2009) – On Friday evening, May 1, at Grace Cathedral, as part of the AIA convention in San Francisco, Greg Roberts and Anita Moran of WHR Architects will be invested as Fellows of the American Institute of Architects. The College of Fellows is composed of members of the Institute who are elected to Fellowship by a jury of their peers. Fellowship is one of the highest honors the AIA can bestow. Elevation to Fellowship recognizes the achievements of the architect as an individual as well as their significant contributions to architecture and to society.

Greg Roberts, FAIA and Anita Moran, FAIA not only exemplify the highest standards of the architectural profession, their work embodies the values of WHR. The firm, with offices in Houston and Dallas, has earned a national reputation for its pioneering work healthcare, education, science and technology for mission-focused clients across the country.

Greg Roberts is being honored as a leading force in the development of sustainable architecture for healthcare. Through Roberts’ efforts to incorporate sustainable building strategies in design and specifications on WHR’s projects, as well as through his outreach, writing and teaching, healthcare professionals have begun to see not only life cycle cost advantages in sustainable building design but also improved healthcare delivery.

Anita Moran’s fellowship recognizes her groundbreaking work in the design of campus recreation centers.
