WHR’s philosophy of ‘Architecture with People in Mind’ recognizes the interdependence between a healthful environment and the well-being of people. We are committed to creating architecture, which is environmentally respectful and restorative to human health.

Project Approach
With empathy, maximizing value for our clients and end-user satisfaction as core values of our philosophy, Sustainable Design at WHR seeks to balance each of the goals of the triple bottom line - economic, environmental and social, leading to a holistic project approach.

Our buildings focus on people- their future, happiness and wellbeing. As co-creators of environ¬ments serving large populations, we have an obligation to create healthy buildings by protecting clean air, clean water, judicious consumption of energy as well as the material and financial resources of our clients. Regardless of urban, suburban or rural environments, we believe our healthcare, education and science facilities must contribute to live-able communities and incorporate the following ten values:

WHR Sustainable Design Process
To achieve this holistic approach, we employ a process that is Participatory, Collaborative, Evidence Based, Integrated, involves Early Goal Setting, Benchmarking and Verification. Our Sustainable Design Process addresses the actions that will be conducted during each phase of a typical project to integrate sustainability. The cyclic nature of the diagram emerges from our emphasis on an evidence-based design model.
