Fellowship Experience/Accomplishments At Kansas State University she wrote a thesis project focused on the role of nature as part of a Healing Environment in a Hospice House. This partially stems from her interest in healing environments for older adult patients.
Kelly was involved in the Platte Valley Medical Center Master Planning and Programming, and continues to learn about healing environments with WHR. Currently, she is working on the Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics Master Plan in Tyler, Texas.
Recently, Kelly co-authored an article with Diana Anderson (Tradewell Fellow 2008-2009), which can be found in the Fall 2009 edition of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) Crit Journal titled, “Valuable Resource: A Fellowship Experience.” She also team-authored an article with Diana Anderson and Ashley Dias (HKS Fellow 2008-2009), titled, “Fellowship: Opportunity, Mentorship & Legacy” for Healthcare Design Magazine Online.
As part of her Fellowship, Kelly has attended Healthcare Design 09 in Orlando, Florida on October 30-November 3, 2009. For Kelly's Tradewell Fellowship project, she is currently studying and defining the process of evidence-based design and practice through a case-study analysis.
