Early on in her fellowship term at WHR, Diana became a LEEP Accredited Professional. Diana was involved in a master planning project for Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics in Tyler, Texas. In addition, she helped in putting together a Post-Occupancy Evaluation for Ocean Medical Center in New Jersey and was involved in research and design for the Hospice Brazos Valley in Bryan, Texas, part of the new Texas A&M University Health Science Center Campus.
Diana continues to be active in evidence-based design research. During medical school she completed a qualitative study on Palliative Care Unit Design at Bridgepoint Hospital in Toronto, Canada. This paper appeared in the April 2008 issue of the World Health Design Journal, published by The International Academy for Design and Health (IADH).
Diana was also awarded one of the 2003-2004 AIA/AHA Graduate Fellowships in Health Facility Planning and Design for her master’s thesis project in architecture.
Diana attended Healthcare Design ’08 in Washington, D.C., and the IADH 6th World Congress and Exhibition in Singapore in June 2009. Her ongoing Tradewell project is exploring the culture of medical rounds, with the intention of making recommendations on space design to accommodate the current shift towards interdisciplinary rounding practices.
Diana authored a commentary on patient room design which appeared in the October 2008 issue of the World Health Design Journal. Along with a WHR Senior Principal, Charles CAdenhead, FAIA, FACHA, she co-authored an analysis on winning Intensive Care Unit designs, appearing in the July 2009 issue of World Health Design. Diana is currently working on a Master Plan for Ocean Medical Center in New Jersey, in addition to a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit study at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, New Jersey.
