Master of Architecture with a Certificate in Health Systems and Design, Texas A&M University
B.A. in Political Science, Washington University in St. Louis
Liz's Tradewell research included a paper on evidence-based design which was published in the HERD Journal. She has also written about Japanese healthcare design, based on her experiences touring Japanese health facilities with WHR.
During her fellowship year, she presented an ICU post-occupancy study to the Houston AIA/Committee on Architecture for Health. Additionally, Liz was an invited speaker at Texas A&M University's Architecture for Health Visiting Lecture Series where she spoke about a typical day in the life of an architect and shared images of Japanese architecture with students and faculty.
She also attended Healthcare Design ‘06 Conference, Gulf Coast Green, ICU of the Future, and the WHR Japan design tour. After these experiences, she shared what she learned with the firm by giving presentations as a part of WHR's continuing education program.
Exposure to front-end planning and design jump-started her career as a medical planner. As a result of the mentorship and front-end client exposure during her Tradewell year, she has since been able to lead design on several projects for a Connecticut client. Today, she is an associate at WHR.
